Carsington Water Is A Reservoir Operated By Severn Trent Water, Located In Derbyshire, On The Doorstep Of The Peak District National Park. It Is An Area With A Good Amount Of Wildlife, With A Wildlife Centre And Bird Hides Along The Route. The Walk Itself Is Relatively Easy, In Terms Of Level Walking Through Fields And Woodland. DE6 1ST 3.36 miles Leave M1 At Junction 28, Signposted Derby. Leave A38 For The A610 Towards Ambergate. At A6, Turn Right To Matlock, Then Left Onto B5035 To Wirksworth. At T-Junction With B5023, Turn Right & Then Left To Re-Join The B5035, And Continue For 4-Miles.

This Is An Excellent Linear Walk Following The River Dove. Starting In Milldale, You Cross The River Tracing Its Path To Dovedale. You Will Encounter Stunning Scenery Including: Shallow Caves And Woodland. Wildflowers Grow During The Summer Months. Sheep May Be Grazing Along Stretches Of This Walk. DE6 2GB 4.08 miles Take The A515 To Ashbourne Heading Towards Buxton. Turn Left Onto Green Lane When You Reach The Sign For Milldale. Turn Left After Crossing The Road Bridge And Pass Through To The Other End Of The Village, Where You Will Find The Car Park.

Middleton Top
Walk The Derbyshire Dales Along The High Peak Trail. We Chose To Start At Middleton Top But There's Many Other Points To Jump On. The Former Railway Line Runs For 17.5Miles. There Are Toilets And Oaid Parking, Plus Cafe At Middleton Top. We Walked Towards Black Rocks. Its About 1-2 Miles, Downhill. Be Aware, It'll Make You Puff On The Way Back Up! The Track Is Stoney, Wide And Goes From Flat To Hilly, Open Views Across The Valley To Tree Lined. The Lune Has Signposts Charting The History Along The Way. Dogs Don't Have To Be On Leads But There Are Bikes! Our Dog Loved It. We Enjoyed The Spectacular Views. Middleton Top Incline And Engine House Middleton 6.18 miles Signed Posted. Head To Middleton Near Wirksworth.

We Visited Stoney Wood Whilst Staying In Wirksworth. Walkable From The Village Or Park Close By. This Place Is Part Of A Millennium Wood Planted In An Old Quarry. Great For A Short Walk To Stretch The Legs. Go Up The Steep Hill To Find The Star Disc At The Top. Dogs Can Run Free, Lots Of Space, Grass, Winding Tracks And Trees For Exploring And Sniffing. Seems Like A Local Dog Walking Spot. Lovely Views Over The Dale From The Top. Walk Into The Village Whilst You Are There And Walk Up To The Puzzle Gardens Area For Cute Lanes And Cottages.
