Welcome to Coalport

Coalport is a small village located in the county of Shropshire, England. It is situated on the banks of the River Severn and is known for its rich history in the ceramics industry. The village was named after the Coalport China Works, which was established in 1795 by John Rose. The factory produced high-quality porcelain and became one of the most successful ceramic manufacturers in the world.

Coalport is also home to the Coalport China Museum, which is dedicated to the history of the Coalport China Works. The museum showcases a vast collection of ceramics, including some of the earliest pieces produced by the factory. Visitors can learn about the manufacturing process and see demonstrations of traditional techniques used in the production of porcelain.
