Staythorpe is a small village located in the district of Newark and Sherwood, Nottinghamshire, England. The village is situated on the banks of the River Trent and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Staythorpe is a peaceful and quiet place to live, with a close-knit community that is friendly and welcoming to newcomers.

One of the main attractions of Staythorpe is the Staythorpe Power Station, which is located on the outskirts of the village. The power station is a gas-fired power station that generates electricity for the National Grid. The power station has been in operation since 1994 and has a capacity of 1,650 megawatts. The power station is a major employer in the area and provides jobs for many local residents.

Staythorpe is also home to a number of historic buildings and landmarks, including the Grade II listed Staythorpe Hall. The hall was built in the 17th century and is a fine example of Jacobean architecture. The hall is now used as a private residence and is not open to the public. Other historic buildings in the village include the 12th-century St. John the Baptist Church and the Staythorpe Mill, which dates back to the 18th century.
