It is situated approximately 5 miles south-west of the town of Market Harborough and 10 miles north-east of the city of Northampton. The name Clipston is believed to have originated from the Old English words 'clyp' meaning 'rock' and 'tun' meaning 'settlement', suggesting that the village was once home to a rocky outcrop. Today, the village is known for its picturesque thatched cottages, historic church, and traditional pub, The Bull's Head, which dates back to the 17th century.

It’S Also A Lovely Walk From Kelmarsh To Market Harborougj. Dogs Can Be Of Lead As Well, Just Watch Out For Cyclists! Oxendon Rd Market Lancashire HARBOROUGH LE16 1.67 miles If You Are Travelling From Desborough It Is Best To Go Through Arthingworth. When Driving Down You Will See A Bridge, Just Before The Bridge You Will See A Car Park On Your Right. That’S Where I Would Recommend Parking As It Is The Start Of The Walk.
