The village of Ashby cum Fenby has a rich history dating back to the 11th century. The village was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 and was originally known as Ascebi. The village was later renamed Ashby cum Fenby in the 13th century. The village has a number of historic buildings including St. Peter's Church which dates back to the 12th century.
