Welcome to Shedfield

Shedfield is a small village located in the county of Hampshire, England. It is situated approximately 10 miles southeast of the city of Southampton and 5 miles northwest of the town of Fareham. The village is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is home to a number of historic buildings and landmarks, including the 12th-century St. John the Baptist Church and the Grade II listed Shedfield House.

Local Dog Walks

Wickham Disused Railway / Meon Valley Trail
A Lovely Walk Along A Disused Railway And Straight Grit Pathway. It Runs Through Woodland, Under A Few Old Railway Bridges, And Past Some Streams. It Can Be A Little Muddy In A Few Places, But It’S Relatively Flat. There Can Be Cyclists Or The Occasional Horse With Rider, But There’S Space For Your Dog To Sniff Around For Exciting Smells. There’S Free Parking, And Wickham Has A Few Dog Friendly Tea-Rooms/Small Restaurants. It Can Get A Little Busy At The Weekend If You Leave It Too Late, But It Didn’T Cause Us Any Issues. There Aren’T Very Many Bins En-Route, But I Keep A Little Poo Bag Holder, So It Wasn’T An Issue. We Had A Pleasant Walk, And Wickham Is Very Quaint! Wickham 1.42 miles

There Is A Large Selection Of Trails From The Main Car Park Which Is Pay &Amp; Display With First Two Hours About £1.20. Most Areas Are Gravel Pathed And Well Maintained Although There Is A Choice Of Through Forest Walks....Very Muddy At Present. Most Trails Are Well Sign Posted With Distances To Car Parks. A Thoroughly Enjoyable Walk Although Not Recommended On A Sunday Morning Unless You Like Sharing The Experience With Lots Of Other Walkers, Dog Walkers And Cyclists. Excellent Wooded Walk In The Forest Of Bere. We Have Given One Possible Walk, Although The Area Has Many Gravelled Paths So It Is Easy To Extend Or Shorten To Suit All Abilities. PO17 6JD 2.50 miles From Petersfield, Follow The A272 Towards Winchester. Join The A32 And Head South Following Newtown. Once In Newtown, Turn Right Onto Hundred Acres Road, The Car Park Will Be On Your Right.

Walk In The Fields, To A Stream And Back. 44 Stag Dr Hedge End Southampton SO30 2QN 3.56 miles On Maunsell Road, You Will See A Path In Between, Houses. Proceed Down The Path, You Will Need To Take The Second Right Path, From There You Will See A Gate And Then The Fields, On The Left. If You Cannot Find This Way Or You Need To Park. Go To Locke Road. There Is A Big Green Area On The Right And A Children'S Park On The Left. Go In Between. And You Will See The Fields. The Cornfield (The Biggest One) Will Be On Your Right. The Stream Is The Hardest To Find As There Is No Path. Just In Between Trees. I Have Placed The Marker On The Map Where You Will Find The Stream.

Swanwick Nature Reserve Can Be Found At The End Of Sopwith Way To The Rear Of The National Air Traffic Site In Swanwick. There Is A Small Car Park But If Necessary, You Can Park (Considerately) Along Sopwith Way. The Nature Reserve Consists Of Three Walks Marked Red (Short), Blue (Around The Lake) And Yellow (Longest). By Following The Marked Posts It Is Possible To Do A Combination. Poo Bins Are Provided Along The Walk Routes. We Found This To Be A Very Pleasant Walk But Be Prepared For Some Inclines Which Can Be A Bit Slippery Underfoot At Certain Times. This Is A Walk That Has Everything, Open Grassed Areas For Ball Running The Dog, Wooded Area Walks Which Are Great For The Dog That Likes To Have A Good Sniff And A Woodland Walk Next To Hamble River. I Normally Access The Park From Pylands Lane Which Is Next To Junction 8 Of The M27 And Then Take The Walk Through The Woods And Along The River Bank, The Walk Follows A Path And Runs Close To A Bridleway So Beware Of The Odd Horse Now And Again, There Are Plenty Of Parking Areas Along The Way Which Are Pay And Display. Right At The Other End Of The Park Close To Botley Is The Farm Which Is Open To The Public And Great For Kids. There Are Toilets, Refreshments And Plenty Of Picnic Areas.
