Welcome to New Cross

New Cross is a vibrant and diverse area located in the south-east of Greater London. It is known for its lively music scene, with venues such as the New Cross Inn and Amersham Arms hosting regular gigs and events. The area is also home to Goldsmiths, University of London, which attracts a large student population and contributes to the area's creative and intellectual atmosphere. New Cross is well-connected to the rest of London, with excellent transport links including the Overground, buses, and nearby train stations.

In addition to its cultural offerings, New Cross has a rich history. The area was heavily bombed during World War II, and many of the buildings that remain today are post-war constructions. However, there are still some notable historic landmarks, such as the Grade II listed New Cross Fire Station and the former Deptford Town Hall, which now houses a community centre. The area has also been the site of significant social and political movements, including the 1981 New Cross Fire, which killed 13 young black people and sparked protests against racism and police brutality.
