This Walk, Through The Wildmoorstone Valley, Includes Part Of The Old Cromford & High Peak Railway Line. The Walk Follows The Old Track Bed To The Now Closed Burbage Tunnel. The Return Part Of The Walk Will Take You Down Into The Valley. SK17 6GJ 3.43 miles From Buxton, Take The A5004 North Toward Errwood Reservoir. On The A5004 You Will Pass A Sign Showing A Road To The Left Toward Goyt Valley. Take This Road, Over The Cattle Grid. The Car Park Is Located Off The Left Of This Road, Beside A Body Of Water.

Fernilee Reservoir
Fernilee Reservoir Supplies Drinking Water To Stockport And The Surrounding Areas. It Was The First Of Two Reservoirs To Be Built In The Goyt Valley, The Other Being Errwood Reservoir. SK23 7HB 3.80 miles From Buxton, Take The A5004 North Toward Errwood Reservoir. On The A5004 You Will Pass A Sign Showing A Road To The Left Toward Goyt Valley. Take This Road, Over The Cattle Grid. The Car Park Is Located Off The Road On The Right, Just Before A Bend Reaching Toward Errwood Reservoir.

Monks Dale
The Route Follows The Monk's Dale Dry Gorge Near Buxton. The Valley Is Dry Over The Summer But There Is A Winterbourne Stream Which Runs Into The River Wye. For Some Larger Dog Breeds This Can Be Linear Walk; The Wall Gaps Towards The Halfway Mark Get Quite Narrow. You Can Also Readily Join The Monsal Trail From The Carpark Of This Walk. SK17 8SN 4.53 miles From Buxton Follow The A6 Towards Bakewell. Turn Left Down The B6049 Following Signs For Tideswell And The Monsal Trail. As You Enter Millers Dale, Turn Left Toways Wormhill Still Following Signs For The Monsal Trail. The Road Assends And Passes Under Two Bridges, The Carpark Is Then On Your Left.

A Circular Route Following The River Goyt As It Meanders Through The Valley To Fernilee Reservoir. SK23 7JX 4.73 miles The Lay-By Is Located About 6.5 Miles North Up The A5004 From Buxton

Cats Tor
Cats Tor Is To The West Of The Goyt Valley. The Walk Starts From The High Pym Chair Car Park, Which Helps Make The Walk To The Summit Easy And Manageable. The Views On A Clear Day From The Summit Are Great, Making This A Worthwhile Walk To Complete. SK23 7RF 5.29 miles From Buxton, Take The A5004 North Toward Errwood Reservoir. On The A5004 You Will Pass A Sign Showing A Road To The Left Toward Goyt Valley. Take This Road, Over The Cattle Grid. After Passing By The Reservoir, Take The Right Turn To Head Uphill Toward Pym Chair Car Park.
