We Visited Stoney Wood Whilst Staying In Wirksworth. Walkable From The Village Or Park Close By. This Place Is Part Of A Millennium Wood Planted In An Old Quarry. Great For A Short Walk To Stretch The Legs. Go Up The Steep Hill To Find The Star Disc At The Top. Dogs Can Run Free, Lots Of Space, Grass, Winding Tracks And Trees For Exploring And Sniffing. Seems Like A Local Dog Walking Spot. Lovely Views Over The Dale From The Top. Walk Into The Village Whilst You Are There And Walk Up To The Puzzle Gardens Area For Cute Lanes And Cottages. Your Dog Will Get Lots Of Exercise From The Hills!

There Are Toilets And Oaid Parking, Plus Cafe At Middleton Top. We Walked Towards Black Rocks. Its About 1-2 Miles, Downhill. Be Aware, It'll Make You Puff On The Way Back Up! The Track Is Stoney, Wide And Goes From Flat To Hilly, Open Views Across The Valley To Tree Lined. The Lune Has Signposts Charting The History Along The Way. Dogs Don't Have To Be On Leads But There Are Bikes! Our Dog Loved It. We Enjoyed The Spectacular Views.
