Welcome to Wittering

Wittering is a small village located in the county of Cambridgeshire, England. It is situated approximately 6 miles south of Stamford and 10 miles west of Peterborough. The village is known for its military history, as it was once home to the Royal Air Force (RAF) Wittering. Today, the base is still in operation and is used by the British Army.

Barnack Hills And Holes Is Fun To Explore. It's A 50 Acre Site That Was A Medieval Quarry. Small But Lots Of Trails And Routes To Weave Around. Also Some Public Footpaths Close To The Site For An Extended Walk. It's Not That Steep But It's Not Wheelchair Friendly. An Average Fitness Level Would Be Needed Perhaps. Paths Are Thin Chalky Tracks Only, And You Can't Walk Side By Side. But Don't Let That Put You Off. Dogs Can Be Off Leads And Love Bombing Up And Down The Teletubby Like Landscape. There Is A Section For Sheep But Its Well Sign Posted. The Site Is A Sssi, With Flowers, Trees And Nature. It's A Popular Local Walk. Easy To Find, Small Free Car Park And On Road Parking Nearby. Barnack Hills And Holes National Nature Reserve Barnack 1.69 miles Easily Located Online And In The Centre Of The Village.
